Repairing Minor Paint Chips

1. Preparation of the Surface

Gently cleanse the affected area using a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth dampened with distilled water. Ensure the surface is entirely free of oils or dust. If the chip has a raised edge, a light pass with ultra-fine finishing paper (1500+ grit) may be used to level the surface, though this is rarely necessary for minor incidents.

2. Precision Application

Using a fine-tipped artist’s brush or a precision applicator, apply a minimal amount of our Signature Color-Match Touch-Up Enamel. It is always superior to apply two translucent layers rather than one heavy coat.

  • The First Pass: Fill the depth of the chip, staying strictly within the boundaries of the loss.

  • The Second Pass: Once the first layer is dry to the touch (approximately 30–60 minutes), apply a second coat to level the finish with the surrounding frame.

3. Curing & Integration

Allow the restoration to cure undisturbed for 24 hours. Avoid contact or cleaning during this window. Once fully set, the pigment will bond with the frame, preserving both the aesthetic and the structural protection of the metal.
